Program Accreditation

It is the Accreditation of the Training program from The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) after fulfilling the Program Accreditation Standards, aims to provide and harness all administrative, educational, and clinical resources in the training centers for the postgraduate professional healthcare programs (General Board Certificate, Subspecialty Fellowship, or Health Professional Diploma) supervised by SCFHS. As a result, it creates an ideal learning environment based on health education principles for both trainers and trainees, which allows trainees to be highly trained and qualified for safe professional practice.

Establishment of New Training Program

:Application procedures

  1.  To Establish a new training program (Click here).

  2. After the announcement of the program curriculum and its accreditation standards, the institutional accredited center can apply for the program accreditation according to the procedures of applying for a new program accreditation.

  1. Reviewing and abiding by the Institutional and Program Accreditation Regulations and Bylaws. (Click here).

1) New Programs Accreditation:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the Program Accreditation Application Form (click here).

  2. Letter signed and stamped by the Designated Institutional Official (DIO). Which should be addressed to the Executive Accreditation Administration in the SCFHS. The letter should be sent at least 6 months prior to the specified date for trainee admission.

  3. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation standards (click here).

  4. Attaching the CVs of the Program Director and Training Board Members, along with a copy of a valid Professional Classification and Registration record issued through Mumaris Plus.

  5. Paying the Program Accreditation Fees (five thousand Saudi Riyals per program) deposited to the SCFHS’s bank account and attaching a copy of the Deposit Receipt.

  6. Filling the Agreement of regulating the payment fees of Institutional and Programs Accreditation (click here).

  7. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The Training Center shall apply for Program Accreditation by Submitting the Program Accreditation Application Form signed by Designated Institutional Official (DIO), along with a letter, addressed to the Executive Accreditation Administration, stating the desire of the Training Center to Accredit the Program Accreditation.

  2. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email (programs.accreditation@scfhs.org.sa).

2) Applying for Addition of a Training Site to a Training Program:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the form of addition for training site to training program (click here).

  2. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation standards (click here).

  3. Attached the Trainer CVs and a copy of the Electronic Professional Classification and Registration record issued through Mumaris Plus.

  4. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The request is submitted by Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the Training Center According to its Form.

  2. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email (programs.accreditation@scfhs.org.sa).

(No additional Program-Accreditation fees are charged for the Addition of a Training site)

 

3) Applying for the Addition of a Training Rotation to an Accredited Training Program:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the form of Accreditation Request for Training Rotation (click here).

  2. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation standards (click here).

  3. Attached the Trainer CVs and a copy of the Electronic Professional Classification and Registration record issued through Mumaris Plus.

  4. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The request is submitted by Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the Training Center According to its Form.

  2. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email .

(No additional Program-Accreditation fees are charged for the Addition of a Training Rotation)

 

4) Applying for Training Program Capacity Modification of an Accredited Training Program:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the Training Capacity Management Form (click here).

  2. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation standards (click here).

  3. Signed and stamped letter from the Designated Institutional Official (DIO ) addressed to the Executive Accreditation Administration at the Commission, to request the Training Program Capacity Modification of the accredited Training Program, at least three months prior to the date set for Opening the Matching System.

  4. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The request is submitted by Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the Training Center According to its Form at least three months prior to the date set for Opening the Matching System.

  2. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email .

(No additional Program-Accreditation fees are charged for the Training Capacity Management)

5) Applying for Training Program Conversion:

  • Shared-to-Full Training Program Conversion:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the Conversion from Shared Program to Full Program Application Form (click here).

  2. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation Standards (click here).

  3. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The Request is Submitted by the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the training center according to its form.

  2. Supporting the Shared-to-Full Training Program Conversion Request by the Chairman of the Joint Training Committee (Co-Executive Director of Training) in the Training Sector.

  3. Setting the Start Date for the Implementation of the Shared-to-Full Training Program Conversion Accreditation and Acknowledging the Obligations According to the above form.

  4. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email .

  • Shared-to-Training Unit Program Conversion:

Requirements:

  1. Filling the Conversion from Shared Program to Training Unit Program Application Form (click here).

  2. Reviewing and Filling the Program Accreditation Standards (click here).

  3. Filling the Virtual Program Accreditation Survey Visit Form, if the visit will be a virtual visit (click here).

Steps:

  1. The Request is Submitted by the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the training center according to its form.

  2. All Requirements should be sent to the Program Accreditation Email .

6) Withdraw Program Accreditation of the Training Center:

  1. Filling the Program Accreditation Withdrawal upon the Training Center Request Form by the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at the training Center. (click here)

  2. Send the request to the Program Accreditation Email .

(No additional Program-Accreditation fees are charged for the Program Accreditation Withdrawal upon the Training Center Request)

General Procedures for Program Accreditation Services:

  1. Receiving and reviewing the request to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled.

  2. Coordinate an Accreditation visit to determine the Programs Accreditation Standards are met (If required).

  3. Review the Programs Accreditation Service requirements to the Program Accreditation Committee for its recommendations.

  4. Issue the Program Accreditation Decision and send it to the Training Center.
